House Proud
All my worry was in vain! The very next day after writing about my trepidation that DK and I were about to enter the painting chip abyss, he paints. As a surprise. I came home on Monday night to perfectly coated gray walls in our living room/dining room, a grinning, sweaty boy, and a totally weirded-out cat. Bliss! Check it:
The BEFORE (wow, this is a lame before, but trust me, lilly white walls):
The AFTER:
We still need to tackle the long wall together, but I am thrilled.
What the hell, here are a couple more photos of the place (someone perhaps got a new camera and has turned quite shutterbug happy). I bought these two plates (from this great 7 sins/7 virtues set) two years ago and had this vague idea of hanging them, but they languished in their box under the bed until last week when DK hung them for me in the kitchen. They look ten billion trillion times better against the gray background:

Love the color! What is it's name!

Agh, agh. Sorry for the grammatical error. That should read: Love the color! What is its name! (and from a lawyer no less; inexcusable!)

Gorgeous! I love your place and all that ART! Couple questions though: 1) is that a, uh, pig? Did your cat get thrown over for a shiny Wilber? 2) where ever did you get those plates? (covet) 3) what is the paint color name; and lastly 4) are those FINGERS by that lovely long vase in the first "after shot"?
Needs must know!

Thanks! The color is Benjamin Moore "Silver Coin" and narrowly beat out "Apparition" as the one to watch. And Dot, wow, did your questions make me laugh -- and in response: 1) Yes, it's a Harry Allen piggy bank and the cat has an uneasy truce with him at present (i.e. we occassionally find him attempting to gnaw on piggie's ear); 2) plates came from www.greenergrassdesign.com; and lastly, jumping ahead to 4) they do look like fingers don't they! One of DK's best friends is an artist named Tucker Nichols and he sent the painted stones to us a couple months ago. A little macabre, no?

Funny that it's called Silver Coin. I was just going to suggest that it looks like money. And that's never a bad thing.
